Mic Shaw

Born Michael Paul Shaw, Virginia Native and Richmond Highway raised, Mic Shaw is a music recording artist and songwriter. Inherently a lover of music through his parents William and Anita who made sure there was always a tune going around the house, it's  only natural he find himself attuned to the art as well. Although an Eastsider, he'd end up delving into the groove and grind of West Coast 90's hip-hop in earlier ages through his childhood best friend, eventually broadening his horizons and studying Hip-Hop's history through all sides and developing a true adoration for the genre. While primarily being a hip-hop enthusiast, Mic would begin to explore all the other types of music and writing styles that the world had to offer. With his teenage years approaching and a troubled home being the source of need for expression and relief, he began to develop his writing ability as it would eventually end up becoming his ultimate therapy and best way of being able to connect to his peers. Spending a good portion of his free time creating poems, short stories, and song ideas, it would only be a matter of time before hopping behind a microphone to let out all of his thoughts and aspirations. Over a decade later of learning to fine-tune his vocal and writing ability, he has rediscovered his love for the musical arts and continues to break his own boundaries and limitations as a creator.
